Fumo Landas Walsh’s debut release, “Under A Covid Moon,” took shape in March 2020 as the coronavirus put Planet Earth on pause. John and I thought of all the cancellations of our upcoming live gigs and studio dates. Rather than grumble, we spent our time sharing ideas
through the cloud and adding new touches with each upload.

The project began with minimal instrumentation and grew in complexity as we progressed. “The
Road Between Us” is simply trumpet and fretless bass, while “Vienna Luce” mutes the trumpet,
adds acoustic bass and guitar. Halfway through our adventure, we welcomed Tom Walsh’s
creative drumming and percussion to expand the sonic canvas. Mary Ekler added piano on
“Daily Life,” transforming the song with her sumptuous arrangement.

“Under a Covid Moon” has not only restored our sanity, but propelled us to keep pushing
boundaries. Your relationship with Fumo Landas Walsh has just begun. We’ve got more on the
way…
